Privacy policy
What you put in Seed is personal: the things you mean to do, the notes you keep, the habits you are building. This policy says what Seed collects, why, where it is kept, and how to take it with you or delete it.
The short version: your content is used to run Seed for you, and for nothing else. There are no ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and no analytics that read what you write. Your data is never sold, and it is not used to train AI.
What Seed keeps in your account
When you create an account, Seed stores:
- Your sign-in details: the Apple or Google account you signed in with. Seed receives your email address and, if you choose to share it, your name, and never your Apple or Google password. With Apple's Hide My Email, the address Seed receives is one Apple forwards to yours.
- Your time zone, so dates and reminders are right.
- What you write in Seed: actions, notes, projects, areas, headings, checklists, tags, comments, reminders and repeat rules, habits and their check-ins, focus sessions, countdowns, goals, weekly reviews, saved filters and note templates.
- Files you attach to notes, such as photos and documents.
- A record of changes, saying which item changed and when, so that your devices stay in step with each other. It never records what you wrote.
These are kept so that your work is backed up and appears on every device you sign in on. Seed does not look at them for any other purpose.
What stays on your phone
- Your calendars. If you allow it, Seed shows events from the calendars on your phone next to your actions. They are read on your phone and are never sent to us or stored by Seed.
- Your photo library. Seed sees only the photos you choose to attach, and nothing else in your library.
- Reminders. Reminders and their notifications are scheduled on your phone.
- Everything, if you use Seed without an account. Nothing leaves your phone until you sign in.
Crash reports
When Seed crashes or hits an error, it sends a report so the problem can be found and fixed. A report contains the error, the version of Seed, your device model and the version of iOS. It does not contain your actions, notes or anything else you wrote, and it is not used to identify you.
Who else handles your data
Seed uses these service providers, each only to provide the service described:
- Supabase stores your account and everything in it, and your attached files. Your data is stored on servers in the United States.
- Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them, confirm to Seed who you are. Each sees that you signed in to Seed, under its own privacy policy, and nothing of what you keep in it.
- Sentry receives the crash reports described above.
Nothing is shared with anyone else, except where the law requires it. If you downloaded Seed from the App Store, Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple collects.
How it is protected
Everything travels between your phone and our servers encrypted, and is stored encrypted by our provider. Access rules on the server let each account read only its own data, and the files you attach are private to your account.
Keeping, exporting and deleting
- The Trash. Anything you delete goes to the Trash, where you can restore it for 30 days before it is removed from your phone. A copy of deleted items may remain on our servers until you delete your account.
- Export. You can export everything at any time, in Settings under Export your data.
- Delete your account. Delete your account, at the bottom of Settings, removes your account and everything in it from our servers, including your attached files, and cannot be undone. Copies in our provider's backups are overwritten as those backups roll over.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to how it is used. You can do most of this in the app yourself. For anything else, write to us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Seed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
